Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:28-29;31
Wife, mother, grandmother, educator, spiritual leader and First Lady, Marlene Harris represents a sweet spirit that illuminates and shines as the presence of the Lord is round about her, here at the First Missionary Baptist Church and the community.
She is the proud and supportive wife of the Reverend Dr. James O. Harris esteemed Pastor of the First Baptist Church. She is even more proud as a mother of their four children: Timothy, Kimberly, Katherine, and James C. (Patrice) Harris and three grandchildren: Kelsey, Kaelynn and Kelvion.
First Lady Marlene Harris is a humble woman of God. She is very dedicated, loyal, loves people and children. Our First Lady doesn’t mind letting you know that she loves the Lord with all her heart. She works in many facets of the church’s ministries. She leads the Youth Department, Directress of Vacation Bible School, and sings in the choir; she is an example of a servant as she serves meals to the bereaved of the church and works wherever her hands find themselves aiding in the vineyard.
We are excited that the Lord has blessed us with an anointed woman for seventeen years. She is a crown jewel who sincerely loves people! We sincerely thank you for all you do and lift you up in prayer.
For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do. Hebrews 6:10 (ESV)
